Keyamo Criticizes Atiku for Disrespectful Remarks About Tinubu
Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has criticized the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, for his informal reference to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during a recent press conference in Abuja.
In a post shared on his verified social media account, Keyamo described Atiku’s use of the name “Bola” to address the President as “disrespectful and discourteous.” He asserted that political disagreements should not undermine the dignity associated with the presidential office.
Keyamo’s comments followed Atiku’s statements at the press conference on Friday, where he discussed the increasing cost of petrol, government intervention, and the economic challenges facing Nigerians.
“The continuous reference to President Bola Tinubu by His Excellency, ex-Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, as ‘Bola’ is very disrespectful and discourteous,” Keyamo stated. “He should know better that regardless of political differences, for the sake of the country, that office should be accorded all the dignity it deserves. The tone reeks of pain and bitterness in his heart.”
Atiku’s press conference notably included calls for immediate actions to reduce the price of petrol.
