Flying Eagles Players Recognized in WAFU B U-20 Championship Best XI

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria are making headlines at the WAFU B U-20 Championship, with two of their players, Alfred Odinaka and Abdulmuiz Adeleke, named to the Group Stage Best XI. This announcement follows the conclusion of the group stage on Sunday.

Odinaka, who plays as a defender, is one of four players selected for that position. Meanwhile, forward Adeleke has emerged as a standout performer in the tournament, contributing four goals across three matches. His impressive scoring includes two goals in Nigeria’s 4-2 victory over Ghana’s Black Satellites and another two in the 3-0 win against Togo’s Sparrow Hawks.

In addition to the Flying Eagles, Burkina Faso and host nation Côte d’Ivoire each have three players represented in the Team of the Group Stage. Niger, Ghana, and Togo have each placed one player on the roster.

Looking ahead, the Flying Eagles will face Côte d’Ivoire in the semifinal on Wednesday.
