World Cup: ‘They’ll win 1-0’ – Ex-France star, Leboeuf predicts Norway vs England
Frank Leboeuf Predicts Norway Will Defeat England in Quarter-Final
Former France international Frank Leboeuf has forecasted a victory for Norway over England in their quarter-final match on Saturday. During a segment on ESPN, Leboeuf expressed confidence in Norway’s chances, predicting a 1-0 win.
“I’m going straight for Norway. They will win 1-0,” he stated.
Norway has emerged as a surprising contender in the 2026 World Cup, returning to the tournament after a 28-year absence. Their only loss came against France during the group stage.
The team has made history by achieving victories in their first two knockout matches, notably eliminating five-time champions Brazil in the round of 16.
Key to Norway’s success has been forward Erling Haaland, who has scored seven goals in the tournament, including two against Brazil. Despite his familiarity with several England defenders from the Premier League, the upcoming match poses its own set of challenges for him.
On the other hand, the Three Lions remain undefeated in this World Cup. Although the two teams have been in the same qualifying group twice, this match will mark their first World Cup meeting.
Historically, England has had the advantage over Norway, winning seven out of 12 encounters, while Norway has managed just two victories. Their most recent clash occurred in a friendly in 2014, where England secured a narrow 1-0 win.
