Fifteen individuals were rescued and transported to Kura General Hospital for treatment following a road accident involving a DAF trailer on the Kano-Zaria Road.

The crash took place around Gadan Yankifi in the early hours of Sunday, August 23, 2026, resulting in a temporary blockage of the busy highway.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kano Sector Command reported that they received notification of the incident at approximately 5:00 a.m. Their rescue team arrived on the scene within five minutes of the distress call.

“No fatalities were recorded as a result of the crash. A total of 15 persons were rescued and subsequently taken to Kura General Hospital for medical attention,” said CRC AA Labaran, the Sector Public Education Officer.

In response to the accident, Sector Commander CC IM Lawal dispatched a tow truck to aid in clearing the roadway and restoring normal traffic flow.

The FRSC has advised motorists traveling on the Kano-Zaria Road to remain patient, reduce their speed near the affected area, and comply with traffic regulations.

“Motorists are encouraged to cooperate with FRSC personnel and other emergency responders present as efforts continue to clear the obstruction and resume normal traffic conditions,” Labaran added.
