167 senior police officers face disciplinary committee

Nigeria Police Force Initiates Disciplinary Review for Senior Officers
The Nigeria Police Force has launched the Force Disciplinary Committee (FDC) to evaluate disciplinary matters concerning 167 senior police officers accused of violating professional conduct and related offenses.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Anthony Okon Placid, the Force Public Relations Officer, announced that the initiative is currently underway at the Force Headquarters in Abuja. This effort aims to enhance internal accountability, enforce discipline, and maintain professional standards within the organization.
The FDC plays a vital role in reviewing and adjudicating cases involving officers ranked Assistant Superintendent of Police and above. The committee’s process guarantees a thorough, transparent, and fair assessment of all cases, in compliance with existing laws and regulations, leading to appropriate recommendations for the Police Service Commission.
Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu underscored the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to discipline, integrity, and professionalism, emphasizing that no officer found guilty of misconduct will evade due process.
The Inspector-General noted that these disciplinary actions are part of broader institutional reforms aimed at strengthening internal control mechanisms, promoting ethical behavior, and restoring public confidence in the Force.
The Nigeria Police Force remains dedicated to upholding the highest standards of accountability and service, ensuring all officers adhere to the core values of the profession.
