Ondo State authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an 18-month-old girl, who was found beheaded in Idanre. The tragic discovery followed an attack on her mother at a farm settlement in the area.
Bright Kalu, the girl’s father and a local farmer, reported that his wife and their children were assaulted while he was working at a separate location. Kalu said his wife managed to save three of their children but could not locate their youngest daughter.
“I was returning from a nearby camp when I saw my wife looking distressed,” Kalu recounted. “She told me someone had attacked her, and in the chaos, one of our children was missing.” He added that he and his brother immediately searched the area but found no sign of the child until they later discovered her lifeless body behind their home.
The police have confirmed the incident. Abayomi Jimoh, the public relations officer for the Ondo State Police, stated that an arrest has been made and that the investigation is ongoing.
