2026 Hajj: Kebbi govt warns pilgrims against misconduct, sets up committees

Kebbi State Government Issues Warning to 2026 Hajj Pilgrims

The Kebbi State Government has issued a warning to individuals planning to participate in the 2026 Hajj, advising against any misconduct during the pilgrimage. It has stated that violations will result in sanctions both during the pilgrimage period and upon the return to Nigeria.

The warning was announced by Faruk Aliyu Yaro Enabo, Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, during the inauguration of various committees tasked with overseeing the pilgrimage logistics.

Enabo emphasized that the committees have been established to ensure effective coordination and maintain discipline among pilgrims, both in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia. The disciplinary committee, led by the state Grand Qadi, Khalifah Mukhtar Usman, will focus on enforcing proper conduct and addressing any reports of misconduct.

Additionally, security arrangements will be managed by a sub-committee headed by Commissioner of Police Umar Muhammad Hadeija, who will oversee safety measures before departure, during transit, and throughout the pilgrims’ stay in Saudi Arabia.

Enabo encouraged all stakeholders to demonstrate transparency and professionalism in their roles to facilitate a seamless experience for the pilgrims. Ahmad Ja’afar Jega, the Amirul Hajj and head of the government delegation, also urged committee members to adhere to established guidelines and work closely with the Pilgrims Welfare Agency to ensure a successful pilgrimage.

In a related development, the state government has begun the vaccination process for intending pilgrims, noting that immunization is a mandatory requirement for entry into Saudi Arabia.
