Bayern Munich clinched the Bundesliga championship for the 35th time in club history with a decisive 4-2 victory over Stuttgart at home, led by Harry Kane’s 32nd goal of the season.

Kane’s contribution came alongside goals from Raphael Guerreiro, Nicolas Jackson, and Alphonso Davies. Stuttgart’s response came through Chris Fuhrich and Chema Andres.

Borussia Dortmund’s 2-1 loss to Hoffenheim on Saturday opened the door for Bayern, who only required a draw to secure the title with four matches remaining in the season. Bayern’s coach, Vincent Kompany, opted to rest key players including Kane, Michael Olise, and Manuel Neuer in preparation for a forthcoming German Cup semifinal against Bayer Leverkusen.

The match began with a setback for Bayern, as Fuhrich scored the opening goal 21 minutes in. However, the team quickly rebounded, scoring three goals within a span of seven minutes. Jamal Musiala assisted Guerreiro’s equalizer, before Luis Diaz set up goals for Jackson and Davies, offering Bayern a comfortable lead heading into halftime.

Kane extended the advantage shortly after the second half started, securing another Bundesliga title for his collection of team honors. Following the goal, Bayern eased off the throttle, as staff members brought “2026 Champions” T-shirts to the sidelines. Andres added a late consolation goal for Stuttgart, but Bayern dominated the match, celebrating their championship victory.

The triumph underscores Bayern Munich’s historical supremacy in German football. The club has claimed 13 of the last 14 league titles, further solidifying its status with 35 overall titles—no other team has achieved double-digit figures.

This season has been particularly impressive for Bayern, who have scored 109 goals—an all-time high in Bundesliga history—surpassing the previous record of 101 set in 1971-72. With four games to play, Bayern holds 79 points and an extraordinary goal difference of 80, a statistic that could make Bundesliga history if they surpass their points tally.

Should Bayern secure wins in their remaining matches, they could match the record of 91 points established during their 2012-13 treble-winning season.

Individually, Kane, who recently became the first English player since the 1930-31 season to surpass 50 goals in all competitions, remains in pursuit of Robert Lewandowski’s single-season record of 41 goals. Currently, Kane has netted 32 goals in 27 appearances, while Michael Olise has 18 assists, three shy of the all-time record held by Thomas Muller from the 2019-20 season.
