Dangiwa sends message to Tinubu, FEC members after exit as Housing Minister

Outgoing Minister of Housing Thanks President Tinubu for Opportunity to Serve
Ahmed Dangiwa, the outgoing Minister of Housing and Urban Development, has publicly thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the chance to serve in the Federal Executive Council (FEC) and for his role in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Dangiwa’s comments follow a recent cabinet reshuffle, announced on Tuesday, that resulted in his departure from the cabinet alongside Finance Minister Wale Edun. In a statement released by his Special Assistant on Media and Strategy, Mark Chieshe, Dangiwa characterized his time in office as both an honor and a significant responsibility.
“It has been a rare privilege to contribute to the advancement of policies and programs aimed at expanding access to affordable housing for Nigerians,” Dangiwa stated. He recounted feeling privileged to lead reforms in Nigeria’s housing and urban development sector, describing the experience as deeply fulfilling.
The former minister expressed gratitude to his colleagues in the FEC, heads of housing agencies, development partners, and ministry staff for their support during his tenure. He emphasized notable progress made under Tinubu’s administration, particularly in enhancing the housing sector’s role in economic growth, job creation, and social inclusion.
Dangiwa assured a smooth transition process following the presidential directive to complete handover procedures. He expressed confidence in the incoming leadership’s ability to build on existing progress.
During his time in office, Dangiwa highlighted key achievements, including the rollout of the Renewed Hope Housing Programme and the strengthening of public-private partnerships in housing delivery. He also noted reforms in land administration and housing finance.
He reiterated his commitment to national development and support for initiatives aimed at advancing housing, infrastructure, and economic growth in Nigeria.
