Muhammadu Buhari’s son announces House of Reps bid on APC platform

Yusuf Buhari, the son of former President Muhammadu Buhari, announced his candidacy for the Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives for the 2027 election. He will run under the banner of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The announcement took place on Thursday in Daura, following a meeting with Katsina Governor Dikko Radda the previous day, where he sought the governor’s backing.

“I am here to seek your support, and I assure you that if elected, I will do my best and will never disappoint you, God willing,” Yusuf said to a gathering of party stakeholders and supporters.

During the event, Alhaji Musa Haro, the Dan Madamin Daura and District Head of Dumurkol, urged attendees to support Buhari. “We are here to ask for your support for our brother. We will go to the people in every town and village to seek their support,” Haro stated. He also mentioned plans to collaborate with other aspirants for the same seat, acknowledging the efforts of the current representative, Hon. Aminu Jamo. “Even the current member did his best. We know how politics is — nobody can do 100 percent,” Haro added.

Yusuf Buhari was joined by former constituency member Fatuhu Muhammad and other family members at the event. The seat he is vying for is currently held by Aminu Jamo.
