Azubuike emerges Abia LP Chairman, vows to win every part of state in 2027

Peter Azubuike Elected New Chairman of Abia State Labour Party

UUMUAHIA, Abia State — Peter Azubuike has been elected as the new Chairman of the Labour Party in Abia State, succeeding Emmanuel Otti. Azubuike, a grassroots politician from Obingwa Local Government Area, was chosen during the State Labour Party Congress held Saturday at the party’s secretariat.

The election followed a consensus approach after a motion was approved by Congress attendees. Alongside Azubuike, other new state officials include Chuks Akanmadu as Secretary, Emenike Iroegbu as Publicity Secretary, Joy Ngozi as Treasurer, and Ben Oti as Organizing Secretary.

After the election, Azubuike expressed his commitment to leading the party in a bid to win all electoral seats in the state during the 2027 elections. He emphasized the goal of capturing every position currently held by the opposition, bolstered by the performance of Governor Alex Otti.

Azubuike also downplayed the threat posed by the All Progressives Congress (APC), asserting that the party does not constitute a serious opposition in the state.

Governor Alex Otti congratulated the newly elected executives and commended the Congress organizing committee for their efforts. He also praised Emmanuel Otti for maintaining party stability during a period of national leadership challenges.
