Transfer: Celtic yet to decide on Iheanacho’s future – O’Neill

Celtic Coach O’Neill Addresses Iheanacho’s Future Amid Injury Concerns
Celtic’s interim head coach, Martin O’Neill, has indicated that the club has not yet reached a decision regarding the future of Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho.
Iheanacho joined Celtic on a free transfer last summer after being released by Sevilla in Spain’s LaLiga. Since arriving at Celtic Park, the 29-year-old has faced challenges with injuries, leading to uncertainty about his tenure with the team.
However, with Iheanacho now returning to full fitness, his timing aligns with the club’s efforts to defend its title successfully. He made a significant impact in Celtic’s recent match, coming off the bench to score the decisive goal in a 2-1 victory over Hibernian at Easter Road on Sunday.
This season, the former Manchester City player has netted seven goals for the Scottish Premiership club. O’Neill emphasized that the primary focus for Iheanacho is to maintain and enhance his fitness levels.
“Right now, his fitness is the most important thing, and he has to keep proving that he’s fit on the field,” O’Neill stated following the match against Hibernian.
