Man killed by suspected political thugs after Kano deputy governor’s swearing-in

Young Man Killed in Suspected Political Attack in Kano
KANO, Nigeria — Nura Ribadu, a young man, was fatally injured in an attack allegedly carried out by political thugs at the Kano Medical Centre on Race Course Road. The incident took place shortly after the swearing-in ceremony of the state’s new deputy governor, Murtala Garo, creating a wave of panic in the area.
Sources indicate that Ribadu, a resident of Dandago Quarters in the Gwale Local Government Area, succumbed to his injuries sustained during the assault within the hospital.
Conflicting reports have emerged regarding the circumstances of the attack. Some accounts suggest that Ribadu had connections to the political camp of Deputy Senate President Barau I. Jibrin, while the assailants were allegedly linked to supporters of the newly inaugurated Deputy Governor, Garo.
Videos circulating on social media depict a group of individuals armed with sticks and machetes attacking Ribadu within the hospital’s premises.
As of now, there has been no independent verification of these claims, and local security agencies have not provided any official statements connecting the incident to political motives. Investigations are ongoing as authorities seek to determine the details surrounding the killing.
