Air Peace suspends Lagos-London flight over technical fault

Air Peace Announces Temporary Disruption of Lagos–London Service
Air Peace has reported a temporary disruption to its Lagos–London Gatwick service due to a minor technical issue identified during a routine inspection of an aircraft.
In a statement released Saturday on its official X account, the airline indicated that the fault was detected shortly after passengers had boarded, prompting the immediate withdrawal of the aircraft in accordance with safety protocols.
“Following the completion of passenger boarding, a routine post-boarding technical check identified a minor aircraft fault that required immediate attention,” the company noted.
All passengers were safely disembarked while engineers addressed the issue. Air Peace underscored its commitment to safety, stating that the flight suspension was a necessary measure to ensure the well-being of both passengers and crew members.
“At Air Peace, the safety and well-being of our passengers and crew will always take precedence over operational schedules,” the statement read. “While we understand the inconvenience this situation may have caused, taking swift preventive action was the responsible and necessary decision.”
The airline promptly informed affected passengers and provided hotel accommodations as well as additional support services.
To minimize further disruption, a replacement aircraft will be dispatched from London to operate the delayed flight. The airline stated that passengers are scheduled to depart this morning.
Air Peace expressed gratitude to passengers for their understanding and cooperation during this incident while reaffirming its dedication to maintaining safe and reliable flight operations.
