Lagos commissioners to present stewardship reports before 2027 election

Lagos State Government to Hold Ministerial Press Briefing Starting May 11
LAGOS, Nigeria — The Lagos State Government is set to commence a month-long Ministerial Press Briefing on May 11, 2026. This event will allow members of the State Executive Council to present reports highlighting their activities and achievements over the past year under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration.
Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced the briefing on May 9. According to Omotoso, the event, organized by the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy, will provide residents with detailed updates on various projects, policies, and programs implemented across the state.
“The annual exercise serves as a platform for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to present ‘Facts and Figures’ regarding their achievements aligned with the THEMES+ Agenda,” the commissioner stated.
This year’s briefing is particularly notable, as it precedes the upcoming general elections, offering the public a chance to evaluate the performance of the Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat administration and understand plans for the future of Lagos.
The government further emphasized that the engagement aims to enhance public awareness of its commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance. A statement from the administration highlighted that the recorded achievements reflect purposeful leadership and responsible governance within the state.
All sessions of the press briefing will be live-streamed on the state’s official social media channels.
