President Appoints Maj.-Gen. Adeyinka Fadewa as Special Adviser on Homeland Security

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Maj.-Gen. Adeyinka Fadewa (rtd.) as Special Adviser on Homeland Security, a decision announced on Monday via a circular from the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume.

The circular was disseminated by Dr. Ibrahim Kana, Permanent Secretary of the General Services Office.

In justifying the appointment, President Tinubu highlighted Fadewa’s distinguished service record and strategic expertise, indicating that these qualities have contributed significantly to Nigeria’s national security framework.

The President underscored the administration’s commitment to enhancing internal security coordination among relevant institutions. He also pointed out the necessity of intelligence-led operations to tackle the evolving security challenges facing the nation.

“Stronger collaboration among security agencies is critical to protecting lives, safeguarding communities, and preserving national stability,” Tinubu stated.

He emphasized that Fadewa’s appointment reflects a commitment to developing a more responsive and coordinated security strategy in Nigeria.
