Troops Arrest Three Suspects in Taraba State Anti-Terror Operation
Karim-Lamido, Taraba State – Troops from Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) apprehended three individuals on May 10, 2026, during a raid targeting alleged terrorist networks in the Karim-Lamido local government area.
The operation, conducted by Sector 3 OPWS based in Jimilari, commenced at approximately 6:10 a.m. Security sources reported that the troops carried out coordinated raids on suspected terrorist hideouts in the communities of Binari, Chibi, and Andamin following actionable intelligence regarding criminal activities in the region.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the three detainees are suspected of providing assistance to terrorist groups operating within these communities. Military officials confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody and are being interrogated to assess their involvement and potential ties to broader criminal engagements.
Authorities announced plans to intensify clearance operations and intelligence-driven raids in vulnerable areas of Karim-Lamido, with the goal of dismantling support structures for criminal groups and restoring security in the region.
