LAGOS, Nigeria — Actor Alex Ekubo passed away on Monday at a Lagos hospital after a prolonged battle with stage 4 liver cancer, according to reports from DAILY POST.
In response to the news of Ekubo’s death, controversial self-proclaimed relationship expert Blessing CEO expressed her sorrow on social media. She posted a tribute alongside a photo of the actor, stating, “God will punish cancer. We waited for you to show up. You fought silently. Rest in peace.”
Blessing CEO has previously attracted attention for her claims regarding her own health. In March 2026, she sought financial assistance for chemotherapy treatment for an alleged case of stage 4 breast cancer. However, the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in Delta State accused her of manipulating a medical report related to another patient, which was signed by consultant pathologist Dr. O.A. Odigwe.
In light of the controversy surrounding her claims, social media influencer VeryDarkMan has filed a petition with the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) seeking an investigation into Blessing CEO’s actions.
