Nigeria’s Flamingos Gear Up for U-17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers
Nigeria’s U-17 women’s football team, known as the Flamingos, is ramping up preparations for their upcoming qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. The squad, led by head coach Akeem Busari, arrived in Ikenne from Abuja on Sunday to continue their training regimen.
In an effort to enhance their readiness, the Flamingos are scheduled to face Lakeside Queens in a friendly match on Thursday at the practice pitch of the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
During the initial phase of their preparations in Abuja, the team participated in five friendly matches. They are expected to schedule additional friendlies before heading to Conakry for the first leg of the qualifiers on Sunday, May 24.
The return match is set to take place at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne one week later.
