Beijing – U.S. President Donald Trump is in Beijing for a crucial summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping, aimed at reducing significant tensions between the two global superpowers. This marks Trump’s first visit to China since 2017.

Upon his arrival, Trump was greeted with an elaborate welcome by Chinese officials. Prior to his departure from the White House, Trump expressed his expectation for a “long talk” with Xi. He indicated that a major focus of their discussions will be the ongoing U.S.-Israeli conflict regarding Iran, emphasizing that much of Iran’s oil, which is subject to U.S. sanctions, is sold to China.

Despite the complexities surrounding this issue, Trump sought to minimize concerns, suggesting that the U.S. does not require assistance from China regarding Iran and described Xi’s stance on the matter as “relatively good.”

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Wednesday, expressing its welcome for Trump’s visit and reiterating its commitment to collaborate with the United States to enhance cooperation and manage differences effectively.
