Manir Muhammad Dan’iya Selected as ADC Governorship Candidate for Sokoto State

SOKOTO, Nigeria — Former Deputy Governor Manir Muhammad Dan’iya has been named the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the upcoming 2027 elections.

Dan’iya confirmed his selection on Friday through a statement issued by his former Press Secretary, Aminu Abubakar.

Expressing gratitude to party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters, Dan’iya described his appointment as a significant responsibility. He pledged to work towards fostering unity, stability, and development in Sokoto State.

He also extended his appreciation to ex-Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for his ongoing support and political guidance. Dan’iya noted that the encouragement he received from a wide range of party stakeholders, including youth and women groups, indicates a collective vision for the future of the state.

The ADC, according to Dan’iya, is committed to promoting inclusive leadership, good governance, and policies that prioritize the welfare of the people as the state approaches the 2027 election. He encouraged supporters to remain peaceful and united while political discussions progress.

Reports indicate that at least ten individuals have expressed interest in the ADC governorship ticket, including former Ambassador to Jordan, Faruk Malami Yabo.
