U.S. Embassy in Nigeria to Close for Memorial Day
The United States Mission in Nigeria has announced that the U.S. Embassy in Abuja and the Consulate General in Lagos will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, in observance of Memorial Day, a federal holiday in the United States.
The announcement was made via the mission’s official account on X. Memorial Day, observed on the last Monday of May, honors U.S. military personnel who have lost their lives in service to the country.
