Champions League final: Supercomputer makes final prediction ahead of PSG vs Arsenal clash

Champions League Final Set for Saturday in Budapest

As the UEFA Champions League final approaches this Saturday in Budapest, the Opta Supercomputer has forecasted the outcome of the match between Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Arsenal.

The analysis indicates that PSG, the title holders, have a 56% chance of successfully defending their trophy. Meanwhile, Arsenal is given a 44% probability of achieving a double this season.

The prestigious trophy, the pinnacle of European club football, will be contested in Budapest, pitting the continent’s leading offensive team against its top defense.

PSG aims to become the first club other than Real Madrid to defend the trophy in the Champions League era, while Arsenal looks to join a select group of English clubs that have won both the domestic league title and the European championship in the same season.

The standout player for PSG, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, has excelled in the Champions League knockout rounds, leading all players with ten goal involvements and becoming the first to score or assist in seven consecutive knockout matches in a single campaign.

Historically, only three English clubs have achieved the double: Liverpool in the 1976-77 and 1983-84 seasons, Manchester United in 1998-99 and 2007-08, and Manchester City in 2022-23.

On Saturday, Arsenal, the newly crowned Premier League champions, will aim to join this elite group as they compete in their first Champions League final in 20 years.

Conversely, PSG seeks to follow in Real Madrid’s footsteps, as the Spanish club notably defended their title three times in a row from 2015-16 to 2017-18.

The final will take place at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest, showcasing a contest between the reigning champions and their challengers, both of whom possess limited experience on the continental stage.
