World Cup: Spain becomes fourth country in history to reach final conceding one goal

Spain Reaches World Cup Final, Concedes Only One Goal

Spain has become the fourth country in FIFA World Cup history to advance to the final while allowing only one goal throughout the tournament. This milestone was achieved following the team’s quarter-finals victory against Belgium, where they conceded just a single goal, and a 2-0 win against France in the semi-finals.

The only other nations to accomplish this feat are the Netherlands, Brazil, and Italy.

The Netherlands was the first to achieve this in 1974, conceding a penalty to Bulgaria during the group stage before ultimately losing the final 2-1 to West Germany. Brazil followed suit in 2002, allowing only one goal to Turkey before defeating Germany 2-0 to claim the title. Italy managed this in 2006, conceding an own goal against the United States and later winning the final against France.

With this accomplishment, Spain joins an exclusive group as they prepare for the World Cup final.
