Emmanuel Petit Critiques French Squad After World Cup Defeat
Former France international Emmanuel Petit has expressed his disappointment in the national team following their 2-0 loss to Spain in the World Cup on Tuesday.
In a discussion with former England striker Gabriel Agbonlahor on talkSPORT, Petit observed that the players appeared nervous and underperformed both tactically and technically against the Spanish side.
“We looked so nervous, so far away from our level,” Petit said. “Tactically and technically, we were so poor. Credit to Spain; they really deserved to win. They played really well.”
Petit lamented the lack of inspiration, creativity, and personality in the French team’s performance, calling it “a lesson in football.”
