Governor Uba Sani Gifts Pilgrims in Muna

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani presented a personal gift of 300 Saudi Riyals to each pilgrim during his visit to their tents at Muna on Thursday night.

According to a press statement from the Chief Press Secretary, Malam Ibraheem Musa, this amount translates to approximately N114,000 at the current exchange rate. The governor commended the pilgrims and the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency for the successful execution of this year’s Hajj.

Sani also praised the Kaduna State Hajj Delegation Committee, led by Alhaji Abubakar Mustapha, for ensuring a smooth pilgrimage experience. He emphasized that his administration took all possible measures to facilitate a successful Hajj.

In his remarks, the governor apologized for any minor lapses that occurred during the exercise, asserting that these were unintentional. He noted that “as human beings, we can only plan but only Allah (SWT) determines the final outcome.”

Discussing his own experience, Governor Sani explained that he encountered significant delays in reaching the pilgrims due to road blockages, which forced him to trek for four to five hours over a distance he estimated at 2 to 3 kilometers.

He urged the pilgrims to pray for peace in Nigeria, stating that “development will not take place where there is no peace.” Sani prayed for the reform of those who instigate trouble and expressed hope for the well-being of the state.

In his welcome address, Malam Salihu S Abubakar, Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, acknowledged the governor’s consistent support for initiatives aimed at enhancing the Hajj experience and improving pilgrims’ welfare.

During the vote of thanks, Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi, the Auditor General of Kaduna State, noted that Governor Sani is the first governor since 1999 to visit pilgrims at their tents. He encouraged the pilgrims to support the governor and pray for the ongoing peace and development of Kaduna State.
