NNL: Lobi Stars restructure coaching crew

Lobi Stars Restructure Coaching Staff Ahead of New Season
Lobi Stars has restructured its coaching staff in preparation for the upcoming 2026-27 Nigeria National League (NNL) season. The team, which narrowly missed promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) last year, aims to enhance its competitive edge.
As part of the restructuring, assistant coaches Benjamin Kude and Mathias Asongu have been reassigned from the senior team to the club’s U-19 feeder program. They will collaborate with Coach Stephen Waghbo, who has been appointed from the Benue State Sports Council.
Additionally, former Lobi Stars goalkeeper Jighjigh Ahungwa will take on the role of goalkeeper coach. This appointment is part of a broader initiative to strengthen the club’s developmental framework.
In another change, former defender Odeh Ogah has been named Assistant Team Manager for the U-19 squad. The management at Lobi Stars believes these adjustments will foster a more competitive and disciplined team, better equipped to meet the challenges of the forthcoming season.
