End insecurity protest: ‘Tinubu rented crowd of counter protesters’ – Falz

Nigerian Musician Claims Government Engaged Counter Protesters
Nigerian musician Folarin Falana, known professionally as Falz, has accused President Bola Tinubu of orchestrating a counter protest during a recent demonstration against rising insecurity in the country.
The allegations emerged following Falz’s participation in the #EndInsecurity protest, which took place three days ago on Nigeria’s Democracy Day, June 12, 2026. The protests were sparked by ongoing violence, including killings and kidnappings attributed to terrorist groups.
The protests unfolded across multiple states, drawing the attention of various notable figures, including human rights lawyer Femi Falana and activist Omoyele Sowore, alongside Falz.
In an Instagram video shared over the weekend, Falz claimed the government hired individuals, predominantly women, to disrupt the protest. He expressed concern about the implications of such actions.
“This is literally the end of us if we allow this to continue,” he stated in the video. “We stepped out on Friday to protest the worsening level of insecurity and the mass abduction across the country. It was shocking to see that Tinubu and his supporters had rented a crowd of counter protesters, the majority of whom were women with children.”
Falz referenced specific incidents to highlight the severity of the situation, noting that several children abducted from a school in Oyo State remain missing. He recalled a violent attack on the Woro community in Kwara State that resulted in the deaths of approximately 200 people and the abduction of 176 others. He also mentioned assaults on primary and secondary schools in Borno State, where students have yet to return home.
“This could be your children tomorrow,” Falz warned. “How can you labor for a better life if you are not even alive?”
