‘I faced constant spiritual warfare in music industry’ – Nicki Minaj opens up

Nicki Minaj Discusses Challenges in the Music Industry on Podcast
In a recent appearance on The Bryce Crawford Podcast, rapper Nicki Minaj raised concerns about influential figures in the music industry who, she claims, render talented artists “almost invisible” if they do not conform to specific expectations.
Minaj asserted that many obstacles faced by herself and other artists stem from these unnamed power brokers, who she described as treating musicians like “properties” intended solely for profit. She contended that these individuals actively undermine those who do not align with their interests.
The rapper conveyed that she has experienced “constant spiritual warfare” due to her refusal to adhere to the industry’s unspoken rules. Reflecting on her journey, Minaj expressed her wish that she had been more prepared for the spiritual complexities of the music world.
“It was constant spiritual warfare. I wish I kind of knew sooner that this music industry was such a spiritual experience because I felt like I brought a knife to a gunfight,” she said.
