Arsenal Finalizes First Summer Transfer Deal

LONDON – Arsenal Football Club has confirmed the completion of its first transfer deal of the summer window, which officially opened on Monday.

According to reports from The Sun, the club has activated a £45 million option to sign defender Piero Hincapie, with both parties having reached an agreement on a long-term contract.

In recent weeks, Barcelona has emerged as a potential suitor for the Ecuadorian defender. However, Arsenal remains optimistic about finalizing the transaction for the 24-year-old player.

Hincapie joined Arsenal on loan last summer from Bayer Leverkusen, with the understanding that the move would likely become permanent. The Gunners aim to enhance their squad under manager Mikel Arteta following their Premier League title victory last season.
