Court dismisses application by daughter of ABC Transport Founder, Ihuoma Nneji, to set aside warrant of arrest

Federal High Court Upholds Arrest Warrant for Ihuoma Julia Nneji
The Federal High Court in Abuja, under the leadership of Hon. Justice M. G. Umar, dismissed an application by Ihuoma Julia Nneji on June 16, 2026, seeking to overturn an arrest warrant issued against her.
Nneji was declared wanted by the Nigeria Police Force on April 16, 2025, for alleged offenses including criminal defamation, injurious falsehood, and cyberstalking involving Abuja-based lawyer Barr. Henry Uzochukwu.
In her request, Nneji, the daughter of Chief Frank Nneji, the founder of ABC Transport, sought to vacate the warrant granted to the Inspector General of Police in case number FHC/ABJ/CR/627/25. However, the court found no grounds to support her claims, stating that it could not prevent the police from fulfilling their statutory obligations. As a result, the court dismissed her application.
This ruling confirms that the arrest warrant issued on April 16, 2025, remains in effect. Furthermore, the court directed Nneji to present herself to the police for the continuation of the investigation.
It is unclear whether Nneji will comply with the court’s directive and voluntarily surrender to the authorities.
