Leadway Assurance Continues Support for Nigeria’s Creative Economy

Leadway Assurance Company Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to Nigeria’s creative industry and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by sponsoring the Lagos Leather Fair (LLF) for the fourth consecutive year. LLF is recognized as the largest leather exhibition in Nigeria.

The ninth edition of the Lagos Leather Fair is scheduled for June 27 and 28, 2026, at the EPAC Center in Victoria Island, Lagos. This year’s theme is “Beyond the Hide: Scaling Value, Building Industry, Driving Growth,” which emphasizes the importance of enhancing Africa’s creative and craftsmanship sectors.

Leadway’s involvement reflects a broader vision aimed at fostering business resilience and sustainable growth among Nigerian enterprises. By supporting the leather and creative manufacturing industry, the company aims to boost Nigeria’s global influence and unlock its export potential.

Olusakin Labeodan, Managing Director and CEO of Leadway Pensure, emphasized the vital role SMEs play in Nigeria’s economic landscape. “The leather industry presents significant opportunities for young entrepreneurs and creative minds,” Labeodan said. “This aligns strongly with Leadway’s commitment to facilitating sustainable enterprise growth on the continent.”

A 2025 report by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) indicates that Nigeria processes more than 750,000 metric tonnes of raw hides and skins annually, with a substantial portion exported as low-value raw materials. This presents a considerable opportunity for enhancing value retention and fostering industrial development within the sector.

“It is in ecosystems with such high potential for transformation that Leadway continues to deepen its engagement and support,” Labeodan added.
