Five Arrested in Attack on Hisbah Board Officials in Katsina State
Five youths have been arrested for allegedly assaulting officials of the Hisbah Board during an enforcement operation in the Furagirke community of Rimi Local Government Area, Katsina State.
The incident occurred while Hisbah operatives were conducting a routine exercise aimed at curbing immoral activities in the area. Details were shared in a statement from the Rimi Local Government Hisbah Board.
According to the statement, three of the suspects reside in Furagirke, while the other two are from the neighboring Yandurumma community. Following an investigation, the youths were sanctioned for their actions.
The Hisbah Board reported that the suspects admitted their wrongdoing and committed to refraining from similar behavior in the future that would obstruct the agency’s activities.
Additionally, the parents of the youths visited the board to express their apologies and seek leniency for their children. The Hisbah Board reiterated its dedication to upholding moral standards and maintaining public order within the local government area.
