The Kano State Consumer Protection Council (KCPC) has seized 5,964 bottles of expired soft drinks from Singer Market in Kano. The confiscation occurred after the council received reports indicating that a trader was selling beverages past their expiration dates.
In response to the allegations, KCPC enforcement officers were promptly dispatched to the market to investigate the situation and prevent the expired products from being sold to unsuspecting consumers.

He emphasized the council’s readiness to confiscate expired goods and any products that have had their essential packaging details altered, including expiration dates.
Auwalu reiterated the council’s dedication to removingExpired and substandard products from circulation to safeguard consumer health and interests. Ibrahim Garba Muhammad, the council’s Executive Secretary, confirmed plans for ongoing enforcement operations across markets, business outlets, and supermarkets throughout the state.
