Troops pound two bandits, arrest seven terror suspects in Kaduna, Zamfara

Military Operations Intensify in North-West Nigeria

Troops participating in Operation FANSAN YAMMA have escalated their offensive operations in North-West Nigeria, resulting in the deaths of two bandits and the arrest of seven individuals suspected of collaborating with terrorist groups. The operations primarily targeted areas in Kaduna and Zamfara states.

An operational report released by the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday indicated that soldiers from the 4 Demonstration Battalion neutralized two bandits in Lere village, located within the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. During this engagement, troops seized several stolen cattle, an AK-47 rifle, a magazine, and ammunition associated with ongoing cattle rustling activities in the region.

In Zamfara State, the report detailed that four suspected collaborators, allegedly connected to the prominent bandit leader Gwaska Dan Karami, were apprehended during a cordon-and-search operation in Birnin Magaji. The suspects have been identified as Alhaji Yahya Hoji, Abdullahi Dan Tsabaro, Kabiru Dan Gulgule, and Kalala.

Additionally, three more suspects with purported ties to terrorist activities were arrested while being screened at Gusau International Airport, as they returned from pilgrimage.

The military reaffirmed its dedication to combating banditry and terrorism in the North-West. Officials encouraged the public to continue supporting the troops’ efforts to enhance security in local communities.
