Troops Arrest Suspected Kidnappers in Borno State

Borno State, Nigeria — Troops from Operation Hadin Kai arrested two individuals suspected of kidnapping during an operation in the Gubio Local Government Area on Sunday evening.

The operation, which took place at approximately 6:00 p.m., was conducted following credible intelligence regarding a kidnapping syndicate operating in the region, according to a post by security analyst Zagazola Makama shared on X.

Members of the 5 Brigade collaborated with the Hybrid Force to execute the operation, successfully tracking and apprehending the suspects. During the arrest, security operatives recovered one AK-47 rifle and a magazine from the individuals.

The report stated, “The suspects and the recovered arms have been handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and necessary action.”

The military emphasized that this operation is part of a broader effort to combat kidnapping and other criminal activities in the area. Operation Hadin Kai has intensified intelligence-driven initiatives aimed at undermining the operations of terrorists and criminal groups throughout Borno and the larger North-East region.
