Plateau State Police Arrest 25 Suspects in Drug Bust
The Plateau State Police Command has apprehended 25 individuals in connection with drug-related offenses, during a targeted operation that recovered cannabis and other controlled substances.
According to a statement from SP Alfred Alabo, the command’s spokesperson, a joint task force comprising detectives from the Violence Crime Response Unit (VCRU) and personnel from the Anglo-Jos Division and Anti-Cybercrime and Narcotics Unit executed the raids on Saturday. The operation focused on known drug hotspots at Old Airport Junction and Fwavei Junction in Jos.
Alabo stated that the initiative aimed to disrupt the sale and distribution of illicit drugs in the area. All 25 suspects were taken into custody at the scene, and the confiscated items have been secured by police.
Commissioner of Police Bassey Ewah commended the officers involved for their dedication and professionalism during the operation.
