Two Dead, Eight Injured in Communal Clash in Bauchi

Bauchi, Nigeria — Two individuals have been confirmed dead and eight others injured following a violent clash between youths from Inkil and Bujinji villages on the outskirts of Bauchi metropolis.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:00 p.m. on June 21, 2026, when youths from Inkil allegedly initiated a reprisal attack against Bujinji in relation to a longstanding dispute between the communities, as reported by counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama.

The injured parties were transported to the State Specialist Hospital in Bauchi for treatment after a police patrol team, led by a senior officer and responding to distress calls, arrived at the scene.

Medical personnel later confirmed the deaths of two individuals from Inkil: Al Amin Mohammad Aliyu and Jibir Shuaibu.

In response to the violence, security forces have been deployed to the affected areas to restore order. Authorities are actively monitoring the situation in an effort to prevent further unrest.

Investigations into the clash are ongoing, with assurances that those responsible will be held accountable for their actions.
