Suspected Internet Fraudster Arrested After Allegedly Killing Girlfriend in Warri

WARRI, Delta State — A man is in police custody after he was accused of murdering his girlfriend in the Edjeba community of Warri South Local Government Area. Investigators report that the suspect allegedly beheaded the victim using a knife in his apartment on Ajidi Street.

According to local sources, the landlord of the building raised an alarm upon hearing a loud scream coming from the suspect’s unit. The police arrived at the scene shortly after and discovered the headless body of the woman. Following their investigation, authorities arrested the suspect.

The remains of the victim have been moved to a morgue, where they will be held until the investigation concludes.

Residents expressed shock over the incident, noting that they had seen the victim just the day before when she went to the market to buy food items for the suspect. Locals described the couple as often seen together in the suspect’s white Lexus SUV.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer SP Bright Edafe confirmed the incident in a message shared with local media.
