Rennes Expresses Interest in Rangers Defender Emmanuel Fernandez
Ligue 1 club Stade Rennes is reportedly among several teams interested in signing Rangers defender Emmanuel Fernandez, according to the Daily Post.
Fernandez, 24, joined Rangers from Peterborough United last summer for approximately £3.5 million. Since then, he has emerged as one of Europe’s top defenders, securing the title of Rangers’ Player of the Season and earning a spot on the Scottish Premiership Team of the Season.
In addition to his club accolades, Fernandez has made three appearances for the Nigerian national team, further establishing his reputation on the international stage.
French publication Ouest-France indicates that Fernandez is included in Rennes’ shortlist of three defensive prospects. Other clubs monitoring the player’s situation include Feyenoord, Bayer Leverkusen, and Borussia Dortmund.
