Transfer: Cucurella welcomes £120m Chelsea star to Real Madrid

Cucurella Welcomes Fernandez to Real Madrid Amid Transfer Interest

Former Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella has openly welcomed his former teammate Enzo Fernandez to join him at Real Madrid, as the Spanish club considers a move for the Argentine midfielder this summer.

Sources indicate that Real Madrid is keen on acquiring the 25-year-old Fernandez during the current transfer window, although no official negotiations with Chelsea have yet taken place.

Fernandez has expressed a strong desire to join Madrid, a sentiment he articulated in a March interview. Reports suggest that disagreements over personal terms are unlikely to hamper the potential transfer. While Chelsea is not actively looking to sell Fernandez, the club is reportedly willing to entertain offers that meet their valuation of £120 million.

Cucurella made the switch to Real Madrid in mid-June, with Chelsea agreeing to a transfer deal worth £51.7 million, which included a fixed fee of £47.4 million plus potential add-ons. His departure followed clear indications of his intent to leave the club.

In a recent interview with Spanish outlet AS, Cucurella discussed his relationship with Fernandez. When asked if Fernandez had congratulated him on his move to the Santiago Bernabeu, Cucurella confirmed their friendship, saying, “He congratulated me; we’re great friends and we’ve developed a very good relationship.”

He added, “If there are rumors about Fernandez moving to Real Madrid, I wish my friend all the best. If he wants to take that step, then welcome. I don’t know anything; we will see.”

Additionally, reports suggest that while former coach Jose Mourinho holds Fernandez in high regard, Real Madrid is exploring multiple options for central midfielders as they plan their next steps.
