FCT projects achieved with Tinubu, NASS support – Wike

Wike Credits Achievements to Presidential and Legislative Support

ABUJA, Nigeria — Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, credited the successes of the Federal Capital Territory Administration to the backing of President Bola Tinubu and the National Assembly. Wike spoke at the commissioning of access roads serving the Renewed Hope Cities and estates in the Karsana District of Abuja on Friday, coinciding with Tinubu’s third year in office.

In the absence of Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio represented the president at the event. Wike acknowledged the importance of timely budget approvals by the National Assembly in facilitating critical infrastructure projects throughout the capital.

“Today marks the 18th project commissioning in celebration of the president’s anniversary,” Wike noted, praising Akpabio for effectively representing Tinubu.

Reflecting on past challenges, Wike recalled a visit from Tinubu in 2024 when the groundwork for the Renewed Hope City was laid. He highlighted the lack of access roads as a significant barrier to investment in the area and reaffirmed his commitment to addressing the issue.

“Last year, in February 2025, the contract for road construction was awarded to Lubricks,” he said. “Today, we see a transformed area. This achievement is a testament to the president’s vision and the National Assembly’s support in expediting our budget.”

Wike expressed gratitude to the contractors, acknowledging their efforts and the successful completion of the project. “Payment and construction are no longer issues, as both parties have met their obligations,” he added.
