Lagos State Government Begins Recruitment of Clinical Personnel

The Lagos State Government has initiated a recruitment drive for clinical personnel across its 29 secondary healthcare facilities, aimed at enhancing healthcare service delivery and addressing workforce shortages in the state’s health sector.

The Lagos State Health Service Commission made the announcement on Monday, stating that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu approved the recruitment to fill vacancies in government-run general hospitals throughout Lagos.

This initiative aligns with the administration’s THEMES Agenda and underscores its commitment to improving access to quality healthcare for residents.

In light of ongoing challenges relating to workforce retention in the health sector, the commission noted that this recruitment effort is designed to mitigate the effects of the current brain drain while bolstering the capacity of public healthcare institutions.

Available positions include consultants in various specialties, senior registrars, medical officers, dental officers, pharmacists, physiotherapists, medical laboratory scientists, optometrists, radiographers, nursing officers, clinical psychologists, and health assistants.

Interested candidates are required to submit their applications online through the Lagos State Health Service Commission’s recruitment portal. The application period commenced on Monday, July 13, 2026, and will close on Friday, July 24, 2026.

Only shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in a computer-based test and subsequent interviews.

The commission also emphasized that the recruitment process is free of charge, urging applicants to refrain from making payments to any individuals or organizations during this process.
