Woman Arrested in Alleged Killing of Co-Wife’s Child in Benue State
GWER EAST, Benue State — A woman identified as Erdoo Nancy, from the Ankyoor community, has been arrested in connection with the alleged killing of her co-wife’s child.
The incident reportedly took place along Makurdi Road, opposite YUA Guest House. Eyewitnesses claim that local youths intervened, preventing Nancy from fleeing the scene. They subsequently handed her over to the Nigeria Police Force Division in Alide for further investigation.
Preliminary reports indicate that Nancy allegedly attacked and killed the young girl while the child’s mother was away. However, the motive for the alleged act remains unclear as investigations are ongoing.
The identity and age of the deceased child have not been disclosed. Efforts to reach DSP Udeme Edet, spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, for confirmation of the incident were unsuccessful at the time of this report.
