BREAKING: Court grants Miyetti Allah President, Badejo N2bn bail
The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to Bello Bodejo, the National President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, in the amount of 2 billion naira. Bodejo faces allegations of money laundering involving 2.63 million dollars.
Justice Inyang Ekwo delivered the ruling on Monday, stating that the charges against Bodejo are bailable and asserting the court’s discretion to grant bail.
In accordance with the court’s order, Bodejo must provide two sureties, each in the amount of 2 billion naira. One surety must be a resident of Abuja and must present three years of tax clearance, while the second must own property valued at 2 billion naira within the Federal Capital Territory.
Additionally, the court mandated that Bodejo surrender his international passport to the court registrar, prohibiting him from leaving Nigeria without prior permission from the court.
“The offence with which the defendant was charged was bailable and the court has the discretionary power to exercise this in his favour,” Justice Ekwo ruled.
The judge has scheduled the next court appearance for October 5, 6, and 7, 2026, to initiate the trial.
