Nigerian Musician Davido Criticizes NURTW Leader’s Defiance of State Order

Nigerian Afrobeat artist Davido has publicly criticized Musiliu Akinsanya, commonly known as MC Oluomo, for rejecting an order from Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke. The governor had issued a ban on the operations of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in anticipation of the upcoming governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.

In a statement, Governor Adeleke explained that the ban aims to restore order in public transport parks and prevent the collection of unauthorized levies. Despite this, MC Oluomo has dismissed the governor’s authority over the union’s activities.

In a post on social media platform X, Davido mocked MC Oluomo, saying, “MC Oluomo wey no fit compose sentence dey talk.. Kudosuuuu.” The comment drew varied reactions online, prompting some users to question Davido’s own educational background.

Later, in a post on his Instagram story, Davido called attention to MC Oluomo’s alleged role in political violence in Osun State, asking, “@kingmcoluomo dem say u Dey game. I doubt lol look ur mirror.”

Davido was appointed as the youth campaign leader for Adeleke’s re-election in April.
