‘At 65 I feel like I’m living an extra time’ – Veteran actor, RMD

Nollywood Veteran Richard Mofe Damijo Reflects on Life at 65
Nollywood actor Richard Mofe Damijo, widely known as RMD, recently shared insights about his experiences at the age of 65. In a candid interview on The Moraya Show, he described feeling as though he is “living an extra time,” expressing gratitude for his life and the opportunities it presents.
Mofe Damijo, who noted that his parents did not live to see their 60s, emphasized his appreciation for being both Nigerian and alive during a time when self-employment is increasingly prevalent.
“My life is one of gratitude. I’m happy to be alive and Nigerian at this moment where more people are self-employed than ever in the world,” he stated.
In discussing the secret to his youthful appearance and energy, Mofe Damijo emphasized the importance of diet and exercise. He also shared a philosophy that has guided him: “The only way for an old person to stay young is to never let the old person in.”
His commitment to stylish fashion choices is reflected in his personal life; he mentioned that his eldest child, now 43, often reacts with disbelief at his father’s fashion sense.
“I could have been dressing like an old person, but I maintain classy fashion. There’s no way I’m going to give up,” he affirmed.
