Delta State Police Arrest Drug Suspect in Ukwani Local Government Area

Ukwani, Delta State — The Delta State Police Command’s Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) has arrested a 56-year-old suspect, Lucky Oyiboka, for alleged drug distribution in the Owa-Abbi Community. The arrest occurred on August 8, 2026.

Police operatives carried out an intelligence-led raid based on credible information, leading them to a suspected criminal hideout in the area. During the operation, officers recovered 21 bags of weed believed to be Indian hemp.

Bright Edafe, the Police Public Relations Officer for Delta State, confirmed the details in a statement released to the media in Warri. He stated, “During the operation, Lucky Oyiboka was arrested, and a thorough search of his premises yielded significant evidence of drug-related activity.”

Preliminary investigations indicate that Oyiboka is allegedly involved in the distribution of illicit drugs. Authorities have intensified efforts to uncover the extent of the drug network and identify any additional individuals connected to this operation.

Edafe further noted that Oyiboka remains in custody and will face charges upon the conclusion of the investigation.
