Nigerian Troops Arrest Suspected Terrorist Collaborator in Adamawa State

MUBI, Adamawa State — Nigerian troops from the 247 Reconnaissance Battalion, C Company, have apprehended a 43-year-old man identified as a suspected terrorist collaborator during a cordon-and-search operation in the Mubi South Local Government Area.

The arrest took place on Sunday, August 9, 2026, in the Girpata and Wurobululude communities, according to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, who shared details of the operation on X on Tuesday.

Troops arrested the suspect, Yahaya Adamu, in the Girpata area. A military source confirmed that Adamu is currently in custody, where further investigations are being conducted to assess his alleged connections to terrorist groups.

This operation is part of ongoing efforts by security forces to identify and dismantle terrorist support networks operating within communities in Nigeria’s North-East region.
