Kebbi: Troops foil bandits’ attack, rescue construction workers
Troops participating in Operation CLEAN SWEEP IV successfully rescued construction workers after an attack by suspected bandits at a work site in Tsatsunbe Village, Southern Kebbi State.
The incident was detailed on Friday, August 14, 2026, by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, who reported that the construction workers were targeted while performing their duties in the area.
In response to the attack, military troops swiftly mobilized to the scene and engaged the attackers, who subsequently retreated into nearby bushes. The troops then conducted a search of the area, recovering three motorcycles that had been abandoned by the fleeing assailants.
The construction workers, who had sought refuge in the bushes during the incident, were located by the troops and safely escorted back to their camp. No casualties were reported among the workers.
